    Job Description

    Our client is looking for a freelance product marketer to join their team. If you're open to a contract position, read on and we'd love to hear from you! 

    This person will need to develop a deep understanding of the product suite, market and competitive insights, and operative with a consumer-focused perspective. The ideal candidate will be extremely organized, data-driven, creative and have PMM experience. 

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES 

    • Develop clear, concise and comprehensive product briefs that inform the strategy and execution to bring products, features, and content to market. This requires driving product marketing vision and execution by partnering closely with Product, User Experience, Science, Consumer Insights, User Research and Brand Experience team.
    • Build a global roadmap to guide launch phasing and strategies, effectively presenting and evangelizing plans to marketing management and other teams/leadership groups throughout the organization, domestic and international.
    • Conduct user research (in partnership with Consumer Insights), competitive analysis, and marketing positioning assessment to drive establishment of as the world leader in family history products and consumer genomics. Analyze product trends constantly (usage, engagement, retention, conversion, etc.) to identify key opportunities.
    • Identify target segments, product positioning, messaging, pricing, and offer strategies. This includes identifying core audience segments and develop strategies to maximize product penetration.
    • Quantify market opportunities and align key activities across product, science, operations and content teams.
    • Develop compelling and easy to understand marketing content that will illuminate product benefits to consumers, enhancing their experience and differentiates our products in the market.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or communications or related experience
    • 4+ years of a combination of consumer product marketing and digital marketing experience in an ecommerce or online services company is required. Subscription based business model is highly desirable
    • Demonstrable track record of helping develop strategy and driving execution. This requires strong communication, organizational, and project management skills
    • Exceptional communication skills: must be able to articulate a clear, persuasive argument verbally and in writing
    • Strong presentation and PowerPoint skills
    • Highly analytical: must be able to synthesize information from various sources and draw meaningful conclusions
