    Mission of Finance Director: To manage Finance and Accounting in order to achieve programmatic and financial goals. The Finance Director reports to the Executive Director.

    Cash Management

    · Daily check on Cash Balance when current cash is less than 2 payrolls

    · Ensure that current accounts payable are monetized.

    · Control use of Line of Credit

    · Reconcile bank to deposit envelopes

    · Cash forecast biweekly

    Relationships & Influence Internal/External

    · Be a trusted advisor to managers.

    · Lead 3 professional developments per year for managers on how to better understand and use program financial data.

    · Generate trust from managers through positive relationship building.

    · Form relationships with peers in similar positions of other agencies. Understand best practices and other agency’s strategies towards similar funding obstacles.

    · Develop positive relationships with funder representatives and attend meetings with them.

    · Visit all locations twice a year.

    Closing Conference and Audit

    · Convene monthly financial closing conference by the 10th business day of the month and ensure completion of closing conference check lists.

    · Lead team in analysis of financials and monthly questions with managers.

    · Lead on Audit Management with auditor

    Budgeting

    · Control annual budget process with managers and complete prior to May Board Meeting

    · Ask questions for deviations (positive and negative) and protect the bottom line (monthly in all department budgets).

    · Support quarterly goal setting and achievement for Core Capital Target.

    · Support Marketing department with analysis of enrollment, cash, and budgets during recruitment periods.

    · Work with Strategy Group and OPSP to review, plan and develop Targets (OPSP, Column 3)

    Analysis & Initiative

    · Quarterly MD and A – create three weeks in advance of board meetings. Lead analysis of results with 82SA leadership.

    · Biweekly review of Financials (OTPS1, Revenue, and dLER).

    · Support A/R to perform Budget Modifications with Department Directors

    · Management Accounting Report Monthly for Managers

    · Advise strategy group and Executive Director on financial condition, OPSP, and planning

    · Proactively leads solutions/based problem solving when financial or accounting problems may occur.

    Systems and Supervision

    · Review Financial policies for agency compliance and department structure and propose changes annually

    · Supervise A/R and A/P Accountants, support their ongoing success and growth in their role.

    · Schedule weekly check ins with direct reports, keep informed of tasks and support resources of obstacles.

    · Attend professional development meetings once a month (preferably with peers of other agencies, with 82SA colleagues)

    · Ensure department is scanning and shredding documents on a monthly schedule for easy document retention success.

    Job Requirements

    · Ability to use Excel Solver and Tableau to support data analysis.

    · Prior experience with Blackbaud products is preferred.

    · 4+ years of experience with prior position related to management accounting.

    · Ability to work from home in an area conducive to work with well functioning internet

    · 40 hour work week with flexible scheduling after first year of demonstrated success.

    · Contract experience preferred.

    · Familiarity with many computer programs, including Blackbaud, (or other student record/accounting software).

    · A bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance (or a closely related field) . Strong quantitative and analytical skills.

    · Bilingual skills are preferred - Mandarin, Spanish or Bengali.

    · Pass a credit check, fingerprinting and child abuse history check.
