    We are looking for a proactive, independent Substation Project Engineer to support engineering projects for our utility clients.

    ROLES AND REPONSIBILITIES

    Schedule and lead pre-engineering job walks (field visits) with various project stakeholders to review preliminary scope of work and finalize

    Prepare agenda and exhibits to discuss at pre-engineering job walks (field visits)

    Prepare pre-engineering job walk meeting minutes and send out for review/comments, if required. For any additional scope of work requested by field personnel during the job walk, need to consult with customer discipline manager/lead prior to finalizing pre-engineering job walk meeting minutes and obtain approval from Project Manager and Project Sponsor.

    Finalize pre-engineering job walk meeting minutes and distribute to all project stakeholders, if required

    Review/Recommend and process the project design specification through DocuSign

    Manage agreed upon project schedule including the execution of the various deliverables such as: Major Electrical Equipment Orders (pdf eMEL order forms); order requests for long lead items; submitting various design packages to different engineering discipline groups (e.g. One Line/Elementary Diagrams/Logic Diagrams to Protection Engineering and Automation Engineering Group; HMI/ePAC or RTU/ePAC and Relay Rack Elevation, Wiring Diagrams, HMI Point List, LAN to Automation Engineering group; Plot Plan and physical drawings to Structural/Civil Engineering group, etc.); Relay Rack orders requests; Mechanical Equipment Electrical Room (MEER) Order requests; and others as needed.

    Actively coordinate with Apparatus Engineering in obtaining final approved electrical equipment vendor drawings and submit to Prime to include as part of the design

    Manage development and completion of projects Bill of Materials (B/M) and Cable Schedules (C/S)

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Design project engineer will be responsible for learning and gaining a thorough understanding of all applicable SCE Substation Electrical standards, specifications, and guidelines. These will be provided prior to the start

    A design project engineer assigned to the SCE Substation Projects group should have thorough knowledge of substation electrical work, experience with electrical substation engineering for all voltage levels (4kV through 500kV), knowledge with SCE or industry’s different bus configurations, thorough knowledge of applicable industry, SCE, regulatory codes and standards (e.g. IEEE, GO95, NESC, etc.)

    Technical aptitude and capability to prepare comprehensive and involved calculations, economic analyses, engineering, and construction documents
