Reports To: Planning and Procurement Manager
Shift: 1st shift - full time - hourly
Job Description:
Assist the Planning and Procurement Manager in the planning and scheduling process, which includes scheduling production, sourcing and procuring production materials, and coordinating logistics and distribution to customers. This role will heavily use excel and require an intermediate knowledge of computer programs, web pages and email.
Responsibilities:
Aggregate Purchase Orders and determine the materials necessary for weekly production
Ensure the plant has adequate materials necessary for production
Help build the production plan for the week
Alter schedules to meet unforseen conditions
Procure food and packaging materials in a timely manner; coordinate logistics to do so
May be required to work with buyers and/ or suppliers to help resolve issues such as late deliveries, defective raw materials, product returns, etc.
Coordinate logistics to Vendors ; schedule driver and make appointments
Coordinate distribution to Customers ; communicate with customers on delivery times
Generate Bills of Lading and ensure their accuracy
Ensure final product is made available for delivery in a timely manner; track shipments to make sure they are picked up and arrive on time
Maintain a schedule / calendar of all production and incoming and outgoing shipments
Perform data entry and other duties as needed
Objectives:
Ensure all materials are readily available for scheduled production runs
Meet customer deadlines and fill POs
Ensure high customer satisfaction and service level
Schedule production runs to increase labor efficiency and reduce changeovers
Collaborate across departments to facilitate communication and timely and efficient execution
Qualifications:
Strong communication and organizational skills
2+ years of operations or logistics experience
Strong computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Excel
Previous experience working in a manufacturing or logistics company
Must speak English; Spanish, preferred
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to use a computer and complex computer software
Must be able to read and follow text and instructions
Must be able to work in 35 degree temperatures less than 10% of the time
Must be able to sit most of the day
Must wear personal protective equipment while in production areas
