Job Title: 988 Outreach Coordinator
Job Summary: Responsible for developing, implementing, and managing outreach programs to raise awareness of the 988 National Suicide Prevention Lifeline and other helpline services. The coordinator will work closely with community organizations, healthcare providers, schools, and local government agencies to ensure the community has access to critical mental health resources. The Outreach Coordinator will also engage in direct communication, partnerships, and community events to ensure the public is informed and empowered to use the 988 services.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Community Outreach and Education:
Design and execute outreach campaigns to promote awareness of the 988 Lifeline and mental health support services.
Partner with local organizations, schools, businesses, and community leaders to distribute information and resources about 988 services.
Develop presentations and materials for community events, training sessions, and workshops to educate the public on mental health and crisis intervention.
Relationship Building and Networking:
Establish and maintain relationships with key community stakeholders, including healthcare providers, social service agencies, schools, and local government bodies.
Represent the 988 helpline services at community events, meetings, and conferences to expand the program's visibility and impact.
Foster partnerships with local media to promote awareness of 988 services through press releases, interviews, and community news segments.
Program Development and Coordination:
Coordinate outreach activities and ensure that programs and campaigns are aligned with the organization's goals and messaging.
Work closely with the 988 Program Director to develop and implement strategies for reaching underserved or at-risk populations.
Track and report outreach activities, ensuring consistent communication with stakeholders and the effective delivery of outreach materials.
Crisis Intervention Awareness:
Educate community members on how to identify signs of mental health crises and provide guidance on how to contact 988 for support.
Promote resources for individuals, families, and professionals working with individuals who may be in need of mental health support or crisis intervention.
Data Tracking and Reporting:
Monitor outreach efforts and assess the effectiveness of campaigns and programs.
Collect data on outreach activities, engagement, and outcomes to report progress and suggest improvements.
Provide regular updates to the Program Director regarding outreach activities, successes, and areas for growth.
Collaboration with Helpline Staff:
Collaborate with call center staff and other internal teams to ensure a smooth flow of communication and feedback between the outreach programs and helpline services.
Ensure that outreach efforts reflect the mission and values of the 988 helpline and adhere to confidentiality and privacy standards.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Social Work, Communications, or a related field preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in community outreach, public relations, or a related field. Experience in mental health or crisis intervention programs is a plus.
Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and build relationships with diverse populations.
Ability to create and deliver presentations and outreach materials effectively.
Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple outreach initiatives.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and social media platforms.
Knowledge of mental health resources, community service networks, and crisis intervention strategies is highly preferred.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
