POSITION SUMMARY:
9Line is hiring a Regional Education Coordinator (REC) to support the Traumatic Brain Injury Center of Excellence (TBI CoE). In coordination with designated government leads, the REC is responsible for a variety of duties to provide education for Service Members, veterans and their families on the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of traumatic brain injury. The REC coordinates/facilitates and/or provides TBI education for providers, clinicians and all members of the healthcare team who are involved in the care of Service Members and veterans with traumatic brain injury. The REC delivers education programs directly to families, spouses, ancillary staff, and the military and civilian community on traumatic brain injury. The REC coordinates projects for patient/family and community awareness initiatives.
TBICoE will continue to promote state-of-the-science traumatic brain injury care from point-of-injury to reintegration for service members, veterans and their families. Our goal is to help the Defense Health Agency provide optimal patient outcomes, leading to a medically ready force.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
· Masters degree (required).
· A minimum of 2 years of experience teaching on healthcare or related topics.
· Experience in the care of patients with TBI – in-patient, out-patient, or rehabilitation settings.
· Prior experience within the DoD/VA systems of care strongly preferred.
· Experience with the development of curriculum development for the healthcare field; specifically for the curriculum used to educate patients, providers, leaders, and the general public on health related issues.
KNOWLEDGE:
· Experience with developing and teaching on healthcare topics and TBI required.
· Previous knowledge of Wounded Warrior Operational support preferred.
· Knowledge of TBI, health care and care for the traumatic brain injured patient required.
· Excellent communications skills to include: public speaking, facilitation, interpersonal, networking and building collaborations required.
· Must be able to work independently; as well as function as part of a team.
· Excellent time management and organizational skills, creativity and must be flexible a must.
· Proficient in MS Office suite of products (strong emphasis on PowerPoint), Publisher, Analyst Notebook, and database management required.
· Adheres to legal, professional and ethical codes with respect to confidentiality and privacy.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally or 25 pounds frequently. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Valid state driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle required. May encounter patients who are confused, agitated, or abusive.
