    Must live in Florida About us A Better Solution is a mid-size agency that services The SunCoast and Central, Fl Regions which provide services for persons with disability. We contract with the Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD) which is a State Agency. We are seeking Waiver Support Coordinators for a caseload that covers Counties around Central Florida (Citrus, Hernando, Lake, Marion, and Sumter counties), (Brevard, Orange, Osceola, and Seminole counties), (Hardee, Highlands, and Polk counties) and Suncoast Region (De Soto, Hillsborough, Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas, and Sarasota counties), and (Charlotte, Collier, Glades, Hendry, and Lee counties). Support Coordination is a case manager type position that assists people with developmental disabilities (APD) to identify and pursue their goals. We are looking for coordinators who want to make a difference in our clients' life and assist them to get the supports they need to be independent at home and in the community while assisting them to identify their needs. This position requires time management skills and being self-motivated. This position is great for those who love to work from home and have a flexible schedule. Waiver Support Coordination is the service of advocating for the individual and identifying, developing, coordinating, and accessing supports and services on the individual's behalf, regardless of the funding source. WSCs promote the health, safety, and well-being of individuals. They also promote the dignity, privacy, and respect for all individuals, including sharing personal information and decisions when necessary. Qualifications to become a waiver support coordinator: · The candidate must have a bachelor's degree from accredited college or university · They must also have at least two years of paid, supervised experience with developmental disabilities, special education, mental health, counseling, guidance counselor, social work or health and rehabilitative services. · Must pass a level 2 background screening and a local law clearance, possess a valid driver's license, and maintain automobile insurance. · A master's degree in a related field can substitute for one year of the required experience.
