A+ College Ready Senior Director of Leadership and Support
ABOUT THE POSITION
A+ College Ready, a program of A+ Education Partnership, supports middle and high schools to raise academic achievement for all students and to change the trajectory of education in the state of Alabama.
The Senior Director of Leadership and Support will play a critical role in advancing the mission of A+ College Ready by building the capacity of school leaders and strengthening partnerships with program schools across the state. This position leads the development and implementation of leadership initiatives, provides targeted support through site visits and coaching, and collaborates with administrators to analyze data and drive continuous school improvement. The Senior Director will oversee key leadership programs—including professional learning events, principal onboarding, and Professional Learning Units (PLU) credit opportunities—while ensuring schools receive the resources and guidance needed to improve student achievement, strengthen school culture, and sustain long-term success.
This is a full-time, in-person position that will be based in the Birmingham A+ office, require extensive travel, and report to the Vice President of A+ College Ready. The projected start date is the beginning of the 2026 calendar year.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the leadership component of A+ College Ready’s work by designing, coordinating, and delivering leadership initiatives aligned with the organization’s mission and strategic priorities
Serve as a primary liaison to program schools, conducting regular site visits and virtual check-ins to assess progress and build relationships
Communicate with the Vice President and Content Directors regarding additional support schools may need based on observations and feedback
Lead and co-develop a tiered support model to meet the needs of a variety of schools across the partnership
Onboard new principals participating in the A+ College Ready program to ensure understanding of goals, expectations, and available support
Identify and recommend additional training or resources based on school visits, data analysis, and stakeholder input
Collect, analyze, and interpret data on student achievement, school culture, and teacher performance in collaboration with principals, administrators, and the Vice President
Plan, coordinate, and deliver professional learning opportunities for school leaders, including workshops, regional meetings, and leadership networks
Provide leadership support and coordination at A+ College Ready training events throughout the year
Analyze student achievement, culture, and teacher performance data with principals to identify areas of growth
Attendance and support at Training events
Other duties as assigned
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Belief in A+ Education Partnership and A+ College Ready’s mission and commitment to improving educational equity
Master’s degree in Instructional Leadership (or related field)
Experience in school improvement, turnaround schools, or priority schools (not required but preferred)
Administrative/Leadership experience in a school setting
Experience delivering professional development or leading administrative networks
Experience with school improvement (not required but is considered helpful)
Competency in analyzing and interpreting educational data
Ability to travel frequently; this position requires regular travel, often on a weekly basis
A team player who works productively and cooperatively with a wide range of people
A self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and analytical capabilities
A lifelong learner and active listener with excellent communication skills
Comfortable using technology, including Google Suite, Canvas, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and etc.

A competitive salary will be determined depending on experience and qualifications

*Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the range minimum and the salary range midpoint depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the role.
