Job Description

The International Latin America Reporter Intern will cover international content focused on the China region as their regular beat for Modern Treatise.

Responsibilities:

• Write a weekly column covering the social, economic, and political topics related to Spanish-speaking Latin America from a Latin American perspective.

• Special region-related coverage.

Duration: 6 months

This is a virtual and unpaid internship. Yet, you will gain valuable writing experience.

Official Start Date: ASAP

Qualifications

The candidate should be adept at understanding the domestic and geopolitics of Latin America.

The candidate should be adept at understanding the nuances of domestic politics across Latin American.

The candidate must be able to look at geopolitical subject matters from multiple perspectives.

The candidate must be adept at relying on fact-based evidence rather than political or activist wish-thinking.

The candidate should be adept at understanding the ever-shifting state of the economy or economies of China.
