    Are you the next Andrew Ross Sorkin, Gillian Tett, or Ashlee Vance?

    The Business Journalist (Startup Writer) Intern will cover all business and market-oriented content that identifies with and topically relates to Modern Treatise’s vision/target demographic.

    RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

    • Write weekly commentary on all things related to tech and the startup world.

    DURATION: 6 months This is a virtual and unpaid internship. Yet, you will gain valuable writing experience. NOTE: Metro San Francisco, Chicago, and New York residents strongly encouraged to apply, but location not required.

    Qualifications

    The Startup Writer Intern will cover all startup, entrepreneur, and career-oriented content that identifies with and topically relates to Modern Treatise’s vision/target demographic.

    The candidate must be able to provide critical analysis of current trends and topics in the world of tech.

    The candidate also needs to be on top of the continual emergence of new startups and the impact they might have. A heuristic writing approach is key to achieving this.

    Preferably applicants should be a college graduate or graduate student studying journalism or English (or a related field) and have prior writing/reporting experience with your school newspaper or another publication. Dedicated writers/editors/bloggers with non-traditional backgrounds are also welcome to apply. Must be able to give a year commitment.
