Job Description

The Corporate Controller assumes full responsibility over the company’s Accounting and financial reporting function. The Corporate Controller leads and manages the company’s accounting, monthly financial close and reporting process and directly manages the company’s accounting and payroll processing teams. The Corporate Controller performs a detailed monthly analysis of company financial performance and operational results for communication to and support of department leads and executive management. The Corporate Controller leads and guides overall administration of the company’s transactional and project management ERP system. The Corporate Controller additionally champions and drives the company’s business and internal controls processes and procedures.

A candidate must rely on experience and judgment to manage and accomplish the goals of multiple projects concurrently. Candidates must be highly motivated and be able to demonstrate how they have improved processes and implemented efficiencies in past roles. Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment is a must! Supervision and coaching of a small Accounting team will be required.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee a small staff of Junior to Senior Staff Accountants
• Lead and drive financial processes and improvements
• Responsible for the general ledger close process. This involves approval and posting of monthly journal entries and reviews of all account reconciliations
• Heavily involved with payroll accounting and supervision of payroll
• Oversee daily banking and cash management activities
• Lead and manage the external audit process and activities
• Participate and assist with various Corporate responsibilities (insurance programs, business registrations and licenses, etc.)
• Responsible for the career development of employees
• Participate in integration of acquired business entities and operations

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
• Requires 5+ years of experience in a similar managerial role
• Requires 5+ years in a corporate accounting role with experience managing a general ledger close and financial reporting process
• Strong knowledge of GAAP
• Experience working with Professional Services type firms is a huge plus
• Experience with management and oversight of transaction and project management ERP systems - NetSuite experience strongly desired
