Position open to remote: Yes with monthly office visits to D.C.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

·         Writing quality software for clients and providing them with technical direction

·         Working well in a small team and independently when necessary

·         Participating in daily stand up and weekly planning & retrospective meetings

·         Staying abreast of technology news, tools, and techniques

·         Taking ownership of our work-product

SENIOR ENGINEERS HAVE THE FOLLOWING ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Interfacing directly with our clients, gathering their needs and managing their expectation

·         Architecting, estimating and planning technical solutions to problems

·         Mentoring other Hunter Strategy engineers and our partners engineers

LEVEL DESCRIPTION: MID (4-6 YRS) OR SENIOR (6-10 YRS)

·         Possesses and applies a comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments

·         Plans and leads major technology assignments

·         Evaluates performance results and recommends major changes affecting short-term project growth and success

·         Functions as a technical expert across multiple project assignments

·         We have been working remotely due to Covid-19 and will continue to work remotely until we determine that it is safe to return to in-person work. The candidate will therefore need to have a functional home work space with reliable internet service

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

·         Python, Java or Ruby

·         A variety of web frameworks (preferably including Node.js, Angular, VueJS, React)

·         JavaScript

·         Writing automated unit and feature tests

·         Knowledge and appreciation of REST

·         Deploying to and managing infrastructure in AWS and Azure with Terraform

·         Git & GitHub

·         HTML, CSS

·         Relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL)

·         Key/value stores (e.g. MongoDB)

·         Bash, Linux

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in information technology (OR) related field or equivalent experience
