  • Responsibilities

    The Night Superintendent will oversee/support all operations within the facility on the off shifts.

    Safety • Promote a safety culture in the department through leadership • Ensures that Safety/ housekeeping/ procedures and acceptable work practices are being followed in the department • Audit 5s in department daily and address out of order conditions • Commitment to the STOP observation program • Ensures 100% completion of summit training for all employees in department Quality • Implement and enforce quality control and tracking programs to meet quality objectives • Reviews all CARs, make sure they are completed in a timely manner and follow up on all corrective actions • Ensures that all quality issues or complaints are communicated back to the supervisors and the necessary training takes place • Monitor quality standards of products • Approve samples on any new jobs Production • Participate in shift change meetings with previous and oncoming supervision to discuss any issues the past shift and relay and information for next shift • Coordinate with maintenance to establish priorities on equipment and inform them of any maintenance that needs completed. • Ensures that product quality, production efficiencies, and overall productivity meets or exceeds established standards • Develops and implement countermeasures for any missed target • Meets with supervisors weekly to discuss performance • Ensures that all lean tools are being used to improve productivity and efficiency on all equipment. • Send an email notification out to production manager on any downtime event greater than 2 hours with detailed explanation • Ensure Human Resource requirements are completed • Make decisions about equipment use, maintenance, modification and procurement • Work out and implement standard operating procedures for production operations • Ensure that standard operating procedures are adhered to • Analyze production and quality control to detect and correct problems • Determine and implement improvements to the production process • Prepare and maintain production reports • Monitor and review the performance of staff and organize necessary interventions for improvement • Participate in estimating/costing • Implement cost control programs • Ensure efficient collaboration and co-ordination between relevant departments including procurement, distribution and management Lean Implementation • Participate in all lean events • Participates and drive any lean initiatives

    • Leadership Skills - ability to motivate people to perform at high levels
    • Leadership Training/Development
    • Computer Skills: SAP, MS Office, and database programs
    • Experience with web presses and straight-line gluers is preferred
    • Professional oral and written communication skills

    Required Experience

    • BACHELOR’S DEGREE IN RELATED FIELD AND/OR 5 YEARS OF RELATED SUPERVISOR EXPERIENCE
    • Safety Leadership
    • Ability to display Effective Corrective Action 
    • Detail oriented
    • Self-starter
