    Job Description

    Our Austin-based client is a well-established non-profit in the educational space that has an immediate need to hire an Instructional Designer. The person in this role will be working with Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) to develop content and optimized delivery methods for training Education department faculty at colleges / universities on effective programs for developing our next K-12 teachers This is a direct hire position with competitive pay, excellent benefits and a great work environment.     JOB DESCRIPTION:

    • Design on-line learning modules, course curriculum, in-person presentations and other methods to effectively train university faculty members on delivery of optimized programs for K-12 teacher training
    • Work with a range of internal and external SME’s to develop impactful content that can be delivered in a variety of formats (classroom, online, blended, synchronous, asynchronous) to create the desired learning outcome
    • Develop and implement KPI’s / assessments to track effectiveness of teacher training methods
    • Assess existing learning methods / content and identify gaps and areas for optimization
    • Continuously refine content and delivery methods based on relevant national landscape issues and current research on effective training methods for teachers
    • This position will require ~30% travel
    • Preference is for this role to be based in Austin, but a remote position would be considered for the right candidate

    JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    • MS degree in Education or related field is strongly preferred, but BS/BA candidates with the right experience will also be considered
    • Minimum 5 years experience as an Instructional Designer; candidates who have worked in higher education will be strongly preferred
    • Possess up to date knowledge on adult learning theory and effective teaching methods
    • Comfortable designing learning programs that are delivered in multiple formats (classroom, online, blended, etc.)
    • Familiar with graphic design, video editing and learning management systems such as Canvas
    • Experience working with Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCU’s) or similar institutions is a big plus
    • Must be ok with up to ~30% domestic travel
