Job Description

• Support of AAM's Safety and Quality programs
• Must possess good analytical and problem-solving skills and statistical ability
• Responsible for the effective use of personnel, materials and equipment within designated department
• Support all ISO/TS, IATF, APQP, FMEA, PFMEA Requirements
• Assures materials meet established criteria and reports exceptions
• Operation of Metallurgical laboratory equipment to perform sample evaluations
• Conduct Appropriate testing using the application of measurement system analysis (MSA)
• Administrative tasks including clear communication of production status, requirements, and problems to leadership
• Assist in maintaining and developing, presenting, and maintaining standard operating procedures and work instructions

Required Skills and Education

• Completed Bachelors Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required (focus on Materials Sciences Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering or Mechanical engineering preferred)
• Previous experience in a Metallurgical role
• Basic understanding of Quality Systems (IATF 16949 and CQI9).
• Proficient in the use of metallurgical lab equipment.
