ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitor, review, and approve bi-weekly payroll processing for assigned business entities.
Review, track, and resolve all payroll related issues to include garnishments, deductions, and discrepancies and ensure accuracy and timeliness of the payroll process.
Audit of time and attendance verifying accuracy of hours reported. Follow up with field operations and corporate management in validating payroll totals.
Provide scheduled and ad-hoc reports as requested to include payroll registers, taxes, garnishments, and benefits deductions. Implement reporting standardization and efficiencies as needed.
Support all internal and external audit procedures. Liaise with HR, Benefits, Finance, and Accounting to ensure compliance with all federal and state payroll processing requirements and data retention of payroll related records are within guidelines.
Support all efforts to improve efficiencies in payroll processing to alleviate and/or eliminate late payroll submissions, retro-pay adjustments, and manual check requests.
Responsible for all payroll tax activities, including initiating and completing the business registration processes for new corporate entities and/or new tax jurisdictions, and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Produce and file all tax payments and reports, calculation and reporting of tax liabilities including amendments from prior quarters.
Respond to and work directly with tax agencies to investigate and resolve filing and deposit discrepancies, notices, and complete questionnaire requests and process employee inquiries related to tax questions.
Research laws and regulations regarding taxes and withholding procedures, and monitor and apply changes in payroll system per tax laws that affect the organizations liability.
Implement year-end reporting and processing to ensure the accuracy of W-2s and 941's.
