Job Overview
As an ABA therapist at Practical Skills Clinic, you will provide direct therapy and behavioral intervention in 1:1 sessions with children and young adults diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and/or other special needs. Our therapy is designed using cutting-edge research and methodologies, such as the Interview-Informed Synthesized Contingency Analysis (IISCA), Practical Functional Assessment (PFA), and Skills-Based Treatment (SBT).

Essential Responsibilities
Provide direct therapy in 1:1 sessions with clients ranging in age from 18 months to 21 years.
Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the BCBA, including skills-based treatment programs.
Teach communication, tolerance, and cooperation to clients in challenging contexts while ensuring client safety and dignity.
Adhere to all procedures and protocols as outlined.
Complete daily program data and maintain necessary documentation.
Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
Maintain confidentiality and respect the well-being of all clients.

Relevant experience (e.g., teacher’s aide, camp counselor, parent) is preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements
This role requires specific physical capabilities to effectively support children during therapy sessions:
Ability to sit, kneel, squat, and crawl on the floor for extended periods during therapy sessions.
Ability to transition quickly between standing, sitting, and squatting multiple times throughout the day.
Comfortable working at child-level height, such as seated on the floor or small chairs.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds (e.g., assisting children during transitions or behaviors).
Ability to physically guide or redirect a child safely in the event of elopement or a behavioral incident.
Maintain energy for 2–3 hour sessions involving active engagement and movement.
Fine motor dexterity for using therapy tools, writing, and operating technology (e.g., iPads, timers).
Gross motor coordination for participating in games, obstacle courses, or physical prompting.
Ability to tolerate high levels of noise, sudden movements, and sensory-seeking behaviors (e.g., flapping, jumping, tactile input).
Comfort working in environments with frequent changes in stimuli, including bright lights or unexpected sounds.
Ability to react quickly and appropriately to ensure child safety (e.g., preventing elopement or self-injury).
Maintain constant visual attention and close proximity to the child during sessions.
Job Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to demonstrate a thorough understanding of skills learned during required trainings.
Mobility: Ability to move from seated to standing position, circulate for extended periods, and lift/carry up to 25 pounds.
Communication: Ability to clearly communicate and understand spoken English at a normal conversational volume.
Vision: Sufficient visual acuity to read printed materials, observe clients, and maintain accurate documentation.
Compensation & Benefits
Hourly Pay: $19 - $24 per hour (classification: hourly, non-exempt).
Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and 401k.
Hours: Full-time or part-time, Monday through Friday.
Reports To: BCBA.
