    Job Title: Marina Customer Service Assistant Department: Office & Events Staff

    Reports to: General Manager Position: Customer Service Assistant

    Work Hours: Hours Vary; Approx. 15-37 hrs./wk. Salary: $16 - $19/hr.

    Full time and Part time hours available (Must be able to work weekends)

    Job Summary:

    We are Detroit area Marinas looking for seasonal full time and part time Customer Service assistant(s) to provide a high level of customer service to dock residents and guests in accordance with established guest service and marine time standards. They are responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of the marinas and events as scheduled.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    · None.

    Duties/Responsibilities: Assisting Office Staff and Events Department with:

    · Performs clerical duties – accurately inputting and maintaining customers information in back- office software.

    · Operates office machines including copiers, scanners, phone and voicemail systems, personal computers, and other standard office equipment.

    · Answers phones, directs calls to appropriate individuals, and prepares messages to business customers.

    · Copies, sorts, and files records related to office activities, business transactions, and other matters.

    · Accurately prepare written communication memos, forms, contracts, reports etc. according to written/verbal instructions.

    · Maintains filing systems either manually or electronically.

    · Manages calendars and schedules appointments as requested.

    · Maintain trusting relationships with customers, colleagues, and suppliers.

    · Sort and distribute communications professionally and timely.

    · Perform other duties as assigned

    Event Department duties included but not limited to:

    Work with Event Manager to assess and understand their needs for the event; areas of discussion and consultation include staffing, meeting rooms, catering, security, display areas, and other specialized requirements. Also conduct tours of space with clients.

    Assist with planning event details and aspects

    Consults with clients and coordinates with staff to plan coverage for event

    Ensures that events meet legal, safety, and health requirements and regulations.

    Assist event manager with responding to inquiries, collecting payments, etc.

    Planning for potential scenarios that could impact the integrity of the events

    Performs other related duties as assigned.

    · Ability to travel between Marinas via company provided vehicles

    · Provide support to banquet hall and outdoor events as assigned

    · Perform other duties as assigned

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    · Knowledge of back-office computer systems (ERP software)

    · Ability to work flexible schedule including nights and weekends

    · Must have a Valid Driver’s License

    · Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

    · Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines

    · Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

    · Ability to prioritize tasks and execute them without issues when appropriate

    · Ability to respond to problems and assist clients with a calm, courteous, and helpful manner

    · Thorough understanding of legal regulations and permits required for events

    · Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc) or related software

    · Ability to handle equipment and vehicles safely and sensibly

    · Must be self-directed

    Education and Experience:

    · High School Diploma / GED. Associate degree preferred

    · Valid Driver’s License required

    · Customer Service experience of 1 year preferred

    Physical Requirements:

    · Must be able to work prolonged periods of time sitting at desk while working on computer

    · Must be able to stand and walk, kneel, bend, etc. for extended periods of time

    · Ability to maintain single-task focus and situational awareness.

    · Must be able to work a variety of hours in order to accommodate events hosted onsite

    · Ability to lift 25 lbs./more
