  • Responsibilities

    POSITION SUMMARY   

    This position is responsible for performing daily tasks related to the financial management of the organization ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and generally accepted accounting principles.  Responsible for maintaining day to day accounting tasks, general ledger analysis, and reconciliations.  In addition, this position assists with monthly closing procedures, regulatory reporting, ad hoc analysis, reporting needs, and aids in the development, implementation and maintenance of financial policies and procedures. 

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:   

    • Maintains accurate and complete records, including ledgers, journals, invoices, and receipts.
    • Process and maintain accounts by recording, identifying and verifying financial transactions on an accrual basis of accounting.
    • Maintains fixed assets, CIP, and accumulated depreciation schedules and journals.
    • Processes weekly check runs and electronic payments per procedure.
    • Reconcile balance sheet accounts with monthly closing process.
    • Assists with monthly closing procedures, and regulatory and ad hoc reporting.
    • Identify areas for improvement and assist with improvement processes.
    • Backup support and assistance for billing as needed.
    • Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, guidelines, and workflows.
    • Maintains confidentiality with financial and payroll related information per policy.
    • Maintains confidentiality, ensures compliance with policies and procedures, and follows HIPAA regulations.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    EXPERIENCE /MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • 3 years’ experience working as an accountant, using the accrual method of accounting. 
    • Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
    • Demonstrate intermediate to advanced skills and knowledge of Excel, as well as other Microsoft Office applications.
    • Experience with accounting software.
    • Knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles.
    • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within finance.
    • Knowledge of standard office policies and procedures and ability to use office machines.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • 1 year accounting experience working as an accountant in the healthcare field. 
    • Knowledge of Sage Intacct accounting software.

    MINIMUM EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION

    • High School Diploma or GED
    • Must have a valid driver's license 
    • Annual basic CPR and First Aid Certification

     

    PREFERRED EDUCATION

    Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
