    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Supervising Therapist will assist in the development of staff trainings and the development of resources to provide best practice and evidenced-based treatment to our clientele. The Supervising Therapist will be responsible for providing supervision, direction and feedback to all therapists that oversees the therapeutic care of clients and will be responsible for assisting management in performance improvement activities. The Supervising Therapist will participate in activities during and in preparation for all accreditation, licensing, or other surveys. The Supervising Therapist must understand poly substance abuse and documentation requirements within SUD treatment. The Supervising Therapists may maintain a caseload of no more than four participants and provide clinical groups and individual services.

    POSITION ACCOUNTABILITY

    • Initiate program assessment and implement quality program enhancements utilizing evidence-based practices.
    • Design therapeutic programs.
    • Oversee social and recreational activities ensuring clients are regularly going and involved in recreational and social activities.
    • Maintain relationships with outside agencies and referents.
    • Review industry-related and business statistics.
    • Share with management any areas in need of improvement.
    • Assist management in creating clinical policies congruent with best clinical practices.
    • Review and analyze the effectiveness of the modifications made.
    • Responsible for evaluating the current level of client care, which may include data collection, entry, and analysis, chart audits and observing direct client care.
    • Act as a mediator to both clients and employees to help resolve concerns, complaints, and requests, including the submission of timely and accurate reports as required for resolution.
    • Work closely with therapists and counselors to provide therapeutic supervision
    • Report client complaints/concerns to respective department director and, when necessary, coordinate corrective action.
    • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and provide clinical feedback to direct care.
    • Responsible for conducting weekly counseling groups.
    • Conduct initial assessment and create treatment plans and updates to treatment plan with cooperation from the clinical team.
    • Assist patients in developing measurable treatment and discharge goals and objectives.
    • Lead group counseling sessions and psycho-educational groups.
    • Provide liaison services between patient and family.
    • Document all services via EMR system.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    • Knowledge and understanding the variety of models and theories of addiction and other problems related to substance; recognize the social, political, economic, and cultural context within which addiction and substance abuse exists, including risk and resilience factors; describe the behavioral, psychological, physical health and social effects of a psychoactive substance; recognize the potential for substance use disorders to mimic a variety of medical and mental health conditions and the possibilities for mental health conditions to coexist with addiction and substance.
    • Knowledge of CARF standards.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Licensed as an LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, LMHC, or PSYD
    • Experience with electronic health record EHR software.
    • 3 years’ experience working as a substance abuse counselor.
    • 2 years’ experience supervising staff.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • 5 years' experience working in the substance abuse field.
    • 8 years' experience working the behavioral health field.
    • Experience working with KIPU Software.

     

    EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

    • Master's Degree from an accredited college or university
    • CA issued license as an LMFT, LCSW, LMHC, LPCC, OR PSYD 
    • Driver's License
    • Annual CPR and First Aid Certification

     

    PAY RANGE

    • Salary non-exempt position reporting to the Chief Executive Officer. 
    • Salary based on the experience.
