Created by chef and bestselling author Ayesha Curry, Sweet July is a hub for all things lifestyle, with a quarterly magazine covering an array of topics including food, wellness, beauty, faith, style, female empowerment, and entrepreneurship. From recipes and kitchen tips to interviews and testimonials, we are a destination for daily inspiration.

    WE RECENTLY OPENED THE DOORS TO OUR FIRST RETAIL STORE AND CAFÉ. Nestled in West Oakland, Sweet July features thoughtfully curated products for the self and home, focusing on impeccable quality at an affordable price. Our new shop is designed to excite and inspire, while also providing space to relax and enjoy a cup of coffee or a slice of Ayesha's signature bread pudding.

    POSITION DETAILS: KEYHOLDER, CAFE

    REPORTING TO: Store Manager

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Assist in brewing  a  highly satisfying café experience , taking ownership in serving  new and committed customers. 
    • When required, act as a leader on duty, perform opening/closing routines, oversee cafe'  operations, and communicate opportunities/wins to the store manager. 
    • Assist to maintain a high performing team by supporting sales associates' onboarding and continued training. Lead and model the customer experience standards. 
    • Set the direction and goals for the day/shift when associates arrive for work, ensuring associates receive scheduled breaks and meal periods. 
    • Support and assign replenishment activities, ensuring that the store remains clean, full, and organized. 
    • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • High school diploma/GED required
    • Previous lead in food and service is preferred
    • Current Food Safety certification or CA Food Handlers card is preferred
    • Ability to work well on a team with a passion for helping others
    • Open availability is required 
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Good attention to detail
