    MACHINE BUILDER (ELECTRICAL/MECHANICAL)

    A key part of AC Pro's business is the manufacture of sheet metal components.  We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Machine Builder to join a small team that is building equipment to help modernize the facility. Working closely with the engineers, this role will be critical to ensuring the success of the team.

    DUTIES:

    • Undertake assembly of industrial machinery, both mechanical and electrical aspects
    • Assemble mechanical components, machines, and equipment according to the design/drawings
    • Build and wire electrical panels, with direction from engineers
    • Support the engineers with wiring checks, startup, and testing
    • Perform piece part inspection and assembly inspection
    • Perform testing and evaluations on components, machines, and equipment
    • Assist with installation of equipment and machines in production
    • Participate in internal design reviews
    • Maintain good housekeeping and upkeep of tools & equipment in the workshop area, ensure adequate component/material stock levels
    • Support production while sustaining engineering activities as required
    • Support development of engineering department

    SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Minimum of 3 years of machine building experience, including electrical and mechanical assembly
    • Experience in proper mechanical and electrical assembly techniques
    • Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems and components
    • Experience with wiring industrial electrical panels according to UL & NEC
    • Knowledge of mains voltage and low voltage components, switch gear, motors, and drives
    • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals
    • Knowledge and experience of the correct use of hand tools, power tools, and precision tools, and electrical instruments
    • Able to work with minimal supervision on multiple projects simultaneously
    • Good interpersonal skills; strong relationship-building skills
    • Strong organizational skills; exceptional attention to detail
    • Good computer literacy, including ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and web browsers
    • Strong English communications skills, both written and verbal
    • Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items up to 40 lbs.     
    • Preferred: 5+ years of machine building including electrical and mechanical assembly
    • Preferred: Experience with manual machining (Mill) and/or turning (Lathe)
    • Preferred: Familiar with PLCs & HMIs, Servo motors, and robotics
    • Preferred: Experience in soldering
    • Preferred: Familiarity with AutoCAD

    LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • Preferred: Associate Degree or Certificate (Mechanic, Electrician, Engineering)
    • Preferred: UL or NEC Certifications

    Schedule: 8:00 a.m - 5:00 p.m.

    Pay Rate: Hourly pay rate of $20.00+, depending on experience
