    JOB SUMMARY: The primary functions of the Human Resources/Operations Manager include reviewing and implementing new company policies, maintaining internal HR systems, develop and administer all human resource initiatives and provide HR support to all departments. He/she will also be responsible for maintaining positive relationships with vendors, clients, and internal staff, the Human Resources/Operations Manager will help ACCEL Schools to function effectively and efficiently.

    In performing the essential functions of this role, the work environment is fast-paced, and team-based. The roles require in depth understanding and knowledge of ACCEL's systems, culture, and hierarchies across business units.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Execution, administration, and oversight of Accel's HR Activities including New Hire Integration, Background Checks, Compliance, Reporting/Analytics, Exits, Affirmative Action, Miscellaneous and Improvements.

    • Set objectives for the HR operations team and track progress
    • Managing our HRIS (UKG), recordkeeping, reporting, and people analytics
    • Partnering with the Payroll Department on reconciliations, audits, census reporting, etc.
    • Improve processes and policies in support of organizational goals. Formulate and implement departmental and organizational policies and procedures to maximize output. Monitor adherence to rules, regulations, and procedures.
    • Onboarding new employees, I9 filing, new hire paperwork, benefits onboarding, etc.
    • Offboarding employees, administering COBRA, supporting exit interviews, and unemployment
    • Spearheading open enrollment, identifying, and implementing new offerings, and encouraging benefits and perk utilization
    • Leading monthly and quarterly compliance updates covering any changes in local, state, or federal employment laws
    • Leading organization-wide trainings such as Anti-Sexual Harassment Training, HRIS systems training, time, and attendance training, etc.
    • Administering all employee leaves, including parental, medical, sabbatical, etc.
    • Managing the employee change process, ensuring appropriate approvals, documentation, internal communications, as well as system changes
    • Maintaining reporting metrics and KPI's. Run reports out of UKG and validate and scrub data for analysis.
    • Facilitate coordination and communication between support functions.
    • Address employees' queries (e.g. on benefits and labor regulations)
    • Other duties as assigned

    EDUCATION:

    • Bachelor's degree
    • PHR or SPHR certification or completion of relevant certificate program preferred

    EXPERIENCE GUIDELINES:

    • 2-4 years proven work experience as an HR Operations Manager or similar role - including onboarding, employee relations, and compensation
    • Good knowledge of labor law
    • Advanced hands-on experience with Human Resources Information Systems
    • Experience designing compensation and benefits packages
    • Ability to develop clear and fair company policies
    • Excellent analytical and decision-making abilities
    • Team management skills
    • Strong client/customer service skills
    • Ability to evaluate priority and multi-task accordingly
    • Ability to write business correspondence and create reports
    • Ability to effectively and amiably present information and respond to questions from ACCEL people
    • Ability to understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
    • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables of moderately complex scope
    • Exercises judgment based on experience and expertise for tracks within scope without oversight from managers
    • Handles projects which have medium to long term focus
    • Ability to address issues proactively and constructively with direct management and team members
    • Competency handling difficult and sensitive conversations with team, people, leadership etc.
    • Ability to delegate and direct the work of others
    • Ability to see the big picture and connect the dots for the organization in matters related to their track
    • Advanced technical skills, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word knowledge
    • Ability to report, analyze and summarize data for stakeholders and leadership
    • Competency in process improvements, using tools for automation as well as implementing fixes in broken processes
    • Ability to work effectively with project teams and clients
    • Driven to further enhance their career
    • Willingness to travel locally up to 10% of the time
