  • Responsibilities

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Promote the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
    • Must have strong computer and research skills to maintain clinical competence with new COVID-19 developments, best practices, and standards of care.
    • Ensures adherence to regulatory requirements including TJC, OSHA, CDC, CMS.
    • Assists coordinating infection prevention and control education, including classes in infection prevention, control practices and employee health to include N95 Respirator Training, appropriate donning and duffing of PPE and Blood Borne Pathogen training and compliance.
    • Ensures compliance with state and federal requirements, accreditation bodies, organization's policies, and clinical responsibilities.
    • Implements an effective, on-going system to measure, assess, and improve the quality of nursing care delivered to patients.
    • Evaluates operation and services in correlation to patient flow, productivity, and treatment needs of the population.
    • Develops a plan for each nurse in accordance to specific skills and needs of the medical unit.
    • Ensures continuously improved patient care procedures and control mechanisms relating to quality and compliance.
    • Proposes and implements needed changes and new knowledge on COVID-19 as it develops.
    • Plans and adjusts work schedules and operations to meet mission objectives, priorities, deadlines, and standards of care.
    • Assures nurse staffing and equipment requirements to achieve current demands, safety requirements, and accreditation standards.
    • Coordinates communication and promotes a collaborative and interdisciplinary approach.
    • Assists in data collection and analysis for the completion of reports.
    • Ensures regulations and guidelines pertaining to the use, handling, shipping, and disposal of potential biohazards are enforced.
    • Cooperates with investigations and reporting of non-compliance.
    • Assists coordinating all employee health initiatives and programs.
    • Ensures safe operating conditions within area of responsibility.
    • Perform other duties as assigned or requested.

    Job Requirements

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 2 years of nursing supervisory experience.
    • Associate degree with diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required. 
    • Must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination.
    • Must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse.
    • Must be proficient and have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
    • Able to adapt to sudden changes and flexibility in work requirements to include potential shift changes based on operational needs and/or command priorities.
    • Location of services may at times be in challenging environments.
    • Must be able to multi-task, be detail-oriented, organized, and demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 3 years of nursing supervisory experience in a critical care or infection control unit.
    • CCRN (Adult) preferred but not required.
    • Infection Control Certification (CBIC) preferred but not required
    • Bachelor's degree (BSN) or graduate or higher-level degree highly desirable but not required.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
    • May require bending, stooping and lifting as required for patient care and transport.
