CASE AIDE
The pay rate is $21.24/hr and the location is Long Beach, CA.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervises, evaluates and approves timesheets for assigned Case Aides, as applicable.
- Supports the needs of shelter operations, to include organizing, assisting, preparing for meetings, filing, or communicating with other staff.
- Assists during transition and movement of children from one activity to the next and one physical location to another, and during emergency shelter evacuations.
- Provides oversight during recreation, mealtime, relaxing time, and play as assigned.
- Provides direct supervision of children in care and maintains line-of-sight.
- Ensures and follows compliance with Government customer policies and procedures, state, and Federal regulations.
- May support any team with routine or daily responsibilities, including but not limited to filing, copying, data entry and analysis and other duties as assigned.
- May implement internal data management and reporting systems as well as maintains records on employees and compliance activities.
- Utilizes data management and reporting systems.
- May provide reports with detailed analysis of workforce levels, critical skill set needs and projections.
- May assist with the development and implementation of policies and procedures consistent with those of the organization.
- Maintain confidentiality of children and shelter operations, both on and off work (i.e. no social media postings)
- May assist department heads to ensure operations in the department are implemented according to policy.
- Assists in a variety of personnel and administrative matters including but not limited to maintaining a wide variety of timekeeping records (stored both manually and electronically).
- Maintains confidentiality of all documentation, files, and required record keeping assignments in relations to the population served, customer, and/or employees.
- May verify and coordinate statistical reports and shelter metrics for accuracy and completeness.
- May include compiling information, handling and resolving customer complaints.
- May validate and ensure approval on all other General Clerk time sheets.
- Supervising and mentoring other employees may be required in some positions.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Available to work full time hours with multiple shifts, including holidays and weekends, and on call.
- Must have the ability to resolve unforeseen problems with little or no direction from manager.
- Excellent presentation skills as well as oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with computer, common office equipment, and MS Office™ products.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel™.
- Some assignments may require Bilingual in Spanish and English (Read, Write, Speak).
- Must be able to multi-task, be detail-oriented, be organized and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and composed under stress.
- Must be adaptable to a changing work environment.
- Clean criminal background check.
- Clean Child Abuse and Neglect (CA/N) or Child Protective Services Check.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Performs duties in a safe manner.
- Follows all corporate safety policies.
- Ensures the safety and security of all children and safe operating conditions within the area of responsibility.
- Participates in and supports safety meetings, training, and goals.
- Assists in the active implementation of company initiatives to ensure compliance with OSHA VPP, ISO, Joint Commission, AAAHC, and other mandated regulations/standards.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1 year of office experience.
- 1-2 years of supervisory or management experience.
- Associates or bachelor's degree in the behavioral sciences, human services or social services fields or related field.
- Proficiency in SharePoint™.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English (Read, Write, Speak).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to ascend/descend stairs.
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Able to withstand changing environmental conditions with weather (rain, lightning, extreme heat and winds).
- Able to withstand and manipulate through construction areas, sports fields, etc.
- Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity.
- Must be able to supervise children indoors and outdoors throughout the entire duration of their shift period, which lasts 8 hours or more on a typical shift.
- Must be able to stay awake/alert, sit, stand, walk, bend, or stoop for extended periods of time and/or the entire duration of the shift, as necessary.
- Must be prepared and physically able to respond with the appropriate protocol in a variety of dynamic supervision situations with children of 13-17 years in age.
- In a sudden or emergency event, staff must at all times be physically able to run, jump, lunge, twist, push, pull, and assist evacuating or carrying an adolescent to safety.
- Ability to pass a medical examination to determine one's fitness to satisfactorily and safely care for youth if accommodations are required.
- Able to communicate verbally and listen for constant surveillance of children and staff activities and maintain vigilance of surroundings.
