  • Responsibilities

    Job Description:

    The Senior Enterprise Architect provides expert support to the Enterprise Architecture

    team as well as the entire IPPS-A System Integrator team. Responsibilities include

    defining and designing enterprise architecture models, creating effective data and data

    integration models, and analyzing business needs to deliver solutions in alignment with

    the IPPS-A mission strategy.

    What you'll get to do:

    Act as advisor and liaison between business and technical stakeholders to

    propose changes to the architecture and organization based on analysis of

    requirements and new technology

    Implement strategic direction and architectural strategy

    Support and enhance the Data Dictionary structure comprising the enterprise

    architecture (EA) repository, mapping repository, and artifact repository (Cameo

    and Stat)

    Identify discrepancies between the enterprise technical architecture and systems

    designs proposed by project teams, and assists project teams in resolving the

    discrepancies

    Analyze and extract EA data to create visual presentations (reports, graphs,

    charts, models) for the different EA focus areas (business, information systems,

    information technology) as needed

    Continuously improve the processes for maintain IPPS-A EA data to ensure high

    quality and minimal manual effort

    Continuously improve the presentation and visualization of information in the

    Data Dictionary structure for various audiences

    Work with other key roles such as Business Analysts, Data Architects, Solution

    Designers and Builders, Interface developers, DBAs, etc.

    Education:

    Master's Degree in a technical field

    Qualifications you'll bring:

    Active Secret Security Clearance

    Ability to communicate effectively across multiple constituencies

    Strong management and coaching skills

    Excellent interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork, facilitation, and

    negotiation

    Excellent analytical and technical skills

    Excellent planning and organizational skills

    Knowledge of all aspects of enterprise architecture

    Knowledge and understanding of DoDAF and its application to DoD IT Solutions

    Ability to discover and document recommendations for improving the EA and

    operational infrastructure

    Strong understanding of relational database concepts and data and process

    modeling

    Strong understanding relation and relevance of network and data center

    architecture, as well as application development methodologies, to Enterprise

    Architecture

    Knowledge of enterprise architecture fundamentals; exposure to enterprise

    architecture software tools desired

    Basic knowledge of pay and personnel processes

    Strong knowledge of Cameo Enterprise Architecture tool

    Experience with PeopleSoft COTS architecture and configuration

    Qualifications that are nice to have:

    DoD IT domain knowledge

    At least fifteen years IT experience

    At least seven years EA experience

    Intermediate to expert experience in Microsoft Excel (charting, graphing, pivot

    tables), Microsoft Visio (process flow diagrams), Microsoft Power Point, and

    Microsoft Share Point

    Intermediate to expert experience in managing, analyzing, developing, and/or

    implementing IT solutions

    Enterprise Architecture Certification such as TOGAF, DoDAF or FEAF preferred

    Knowledge of the Agile development process
