ACP Fiber Services is a national prime contractor supporting the telecommunication and utility industries for network infrastructure buildouts and daily maintenance. We are looking for experienced OSP Coax Splicers for full-time work throughout the greater Charlotte area. We require individuals with knowledge and experience with mainline coax splicing and an understanding of mainline cable sizes, tap sizes and cable signal lose.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Technician will drive a company truck/van or bucket truck to be dispatched to various sites for new deployments and troubleshooting of aerial and underground coaxial cable. Technician must be able to read cable plant from Bentley tool and identify cable and tap sizes. Technician must be able to work in some back lot easements with a ladder, identify shorts in coax cable and be able to optimize Hub to Nodes and perform Node Splits (Nodes4100 & 4120) Individual will work with a team of other technicians and report to field supervisors and NOC personnel. Our technicians work in a fast paced and changing environment that requires problem solving abilities and extreme attention to details.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Must have valid driver’s license and an excellent driving record. Must be able to past full background check with no prior convictions Must have at least 5 years’ experience as a mainline coax splicer.

Must have at least 5 years’ experience with vlan and RF meter and core drilling.

Must be able to read prints and other types of engineering documents.

Must have the ability to install, terminate, splice, and troubleshoot coax mainline cable.

Must be able to drive and work in a bucket truck (CDL is not required but a plus) Must be able to work day or nights shifts and overtime hours. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills Must be very conscientious, accurate, detail oriented and self-motivated. Must be proficient with Internet and MS Office applications Must be able to lift 60 lbs. and climb a ladder. Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions Must be legally authorized to work in the United States of America.
