Overview: ACS Professional Staffing is looking for an employee to work on-site with our client. The Assistant General Counsel position is responsible for managing major legal activities such as litigation and major transactions. This full-time position is located in Richland, WA. Responsibilities: * Provide leadership and management direction to Environmental & Regulatory Programs, Legal Services Regulatory Affairs, and Employee Compliance, including planning and assigning projects or tasks, monitoring progress, and evaluating results. Manage and evaluate staff performance through performance appraisals/reviews, promotions, salary changes, professional development, and through active monitoring and coaching. * Draft, review, and negotiate diverse contracts, leases, waivers, releases, financing documents, and other documents on behalf of the company. * Review and act upon legal invoices and settlement claims less than or equal to $100,000; refer greater expenditures to the appropriate delegated authority under Delegation of Authority--Financial Matters Chief Executive Officer Re-Delegation for action. * Serve in the role of General Counsel when General Counsel is unavailable. * Must participate on the Emergency Response Team (ERO) when designated. * Must support the biennial refueling outage. Requirements: * A Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and a current license to practice law in the State of Washington or the ability to obtain a license through WSBA Admission by Motion within 9 months. * A minimum of 10 years of experience practicing law. * Previous management/leadership experience. * Previous experience managing complex nuclear regulatory litigation and/or compliance. * In-depth knowledge of Washington State and federal statutes as applied to public entities and employees. * Excellent negotiation skills.
