    Position: Business Development Specialist

    Department: Sales

    Reports To: Vice President of Sales

    General Responsibilities

    As a member of the Sales Team, the Business Development Specialist shares in the overall team responsibility to generate and qualify prospects for the business, represent the Ad Solem LLC brand to the public, and participate in other sales activities as necessary.

    This is an entry level position with a strong focus on data research and maintenance, close client contact, lead generation, and familiarity with the Kansas City Metro region. This position is heavy on cold calling, canvassing and hunting new prospects. This role will also require extensive internal and external communication, ability to balance multiple projects, attend networking events (e.g., chamber of commerce gatherings) and manage small events.

    Often, the Business Development Specialist is the first impression prospects have of our company. As such, this person is expected to portray professionalism over the phone and in-person. clients and Ad Solem LLC team members. The role requires a collaborative approach to working with Sales Territory Managers and the rest of the Business Development team in order to fully develop Sales Territories. Any previous sales experience is preferred, and a strong interest in a future outside sales position is intended.

    Specific Responsibilities

    • Assist in verifying all data stored within CRM (SalesForce.com)

    • Calling prospects to introduce Ad Solem LLC and solar energy

    • Set up meetings for the Sales Team

    • Canvassing specific geographic areas to generate new prospects

    • Data contribution to CRM (SalesForce.com)

    • Cold calling existing prospect database

    • Market research for Sales Territories

    • Work in partnership with Sales Territory Manager to develop territory and convert prospects to qualified prospects

    • Processing inbound leads from marketing

    • Actively participate in local chambers of commerce and trade groups at meetings, mixers, business expos and other relevant events

    • Set up, attend and breakdown of Ad Solem LLC booth at events in which we participate

    • Develope and manage small events such as lunch-and-learns.

    • Participate in all marketing team meeting, events and functions

    • Key metrics such as Qualified Prospect generation will be tracked closely

    Skill Requirements

    • BA/BS in business-related field preferred

    • 2 – 5 years professional work experience preferred

    • Experience with cold calls/canvassing activities

    • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal

    • Effective time management and organization skills

    • Familiarity with Google Suite (i.e., Docs, Sheets, etc.)

    • Self-starter with an interest in growing with a fast-growing company

    • Ability to learn and adapt

    • SalesForce.com experience a big plus
