  • Responsibilities

    ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This position is for a full time RF-Electrical Technician supporting the Weapons Surveillance and Testing Laboratory (WSTL). The lab provides surveillance testing and evaluation of weapon system components by developing test equipment and test procedures, conducting electrical, electronic, radio frequency tests.

     

    EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:

    • Either Associate’s degree in an electronic field or a technical field of a military technical school and a minimum of 5 years’ experience. Or no degree with a minimum of 9 years technical experience including those listed in Required Skills (below).

    POSITION DUTIES:

    • Work independently to plan and accomplish tasks assigned by lab lead.
    • Operate test equipment to perform installation, system setup, check-out and troubleshooting as needed.
    • Ability to read and understand engineering documents, technical work instructions, drawings and specifications.
    • Ability to explicitly follow written procedures
    • Read, understand and execute detailed technical procedures utilizing automated test equipment.
    • Measure, record and analyze test results
    • Take responsibility for action items assigned, complete the actions and provide status
    • Able to satisfactorily complete background check and get a government clearance
    • Comply and follow company policies and procedures including quality process and instructions.
    • Be able to write, speak and present data as required.

    REQUIRED SKILLS:

    • Experience in RF system integration, RF testing at various RF frequencies and environmental conditions and experience with test equipment
    • Experience using Network Analyzers, RF cables, RF components and Torque wrenches.
    • Familiar with other RF lab equipment like Spectrum Analyzers, Power meters, Synthesizers, Oscilloscopes etc.
    • Experience performing DC continuity checks, experience using digital and analog meters to perform AC and DC Electrical tests and measurements.
    • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
    • Ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision and with quality control.

    DESIRABLE SKILLS:

    • Basic knowledge in automated programming languages like Labview, C++, Unix etc.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Must have a valid driver’s license.
