    AECOM’s West Region is actively seeking a highly motivated Geotechnical Staff Engineer to join the Orange, California Geo-Civil team.     As part of our Water Business Line, you will have the opportunity to work on very challenging projects including Dams, Levees, Pipelines, Bridges, Tunnels, Building Structures, and other Facilities, and collaborate with a wide range of other disciplines.

     

    The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

    • Geotechnical Staff Engineer will support various projects that involve field investigation, soil sample collection, geotechnical analysis and design of foundations for various structures such as bridges, dams, pipelines, treatment plants, etc.
    • Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance
    • Work closely with senior engineers and project managers and get guidance on all aspects of the geotechnical engineering work.
    • Knowledge in installation and/or functioning of geotechnical investigation and analysis is a plus.
    • Analyzing data using spreadsheets and geotechnical software assist in preparation of geotechnical reports.
    • Builds analytic and design skills and conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
    • Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
    • Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
    • Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
    • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related discipline
    • Two (2) years or more of relevant experience or combination of work experience and/or education.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Masters Degree in Civil Engineering with Geotechnical focus
    • Experience using software that includes: Excel, Word, gINT, AutoCAD
    • EIT license is preferred

    Additional Information

    • Relocation is available for this role. Local candidate preferred.
    • Sponsorship is available for this position.
    • Occasional site travel required.
    • Offered rate of compensation (California locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The target salary range for this position is $75,000-110,000.
