Job Description

AECOM is seeking an Architectural Design Intern to be based in Glen Allen, VA.

This position is expected to begin in August 2023.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Assist in preparation of designs, quantity calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings
• Use computer software as a tool for solving basic architectural problems
• Maintain conformance with building standards, established architectural practices, and applicable building codes
• Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member
• Performs a variety of assignments designed to develop professional work knowledge and abilities, requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria in carrying out tasks.
• Limited exercise of judgment is required on details of work and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of science alternatives.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• Currently in pursuit of Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Design or other related field required.
• Must have completed one year of study in applicable program.
• Due to the nature of this role, US citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Must be willing to work in Kansas City.
• Experience with BIM-Revit, AutoCAD, or other related CADD software.
• Experience in the use of computers for making architectural drawings, calculations and 3-D visual simulations.
• A university student that has more than one year of school remaining before earning a degree preferred, these students typically are Freshmen, Sophomores, or Juniors in university.
• Successful Interns may be eligible to return for additional internships.
