Job Description

AECOM is seeking a_ Geologist Intern _to be based in Orange CA.

Responsibilities will include:

• Supports investigation and remediation projects for various clients.
• Under direct supervision, conducts field investigations, monitoring and assessments.
• Assist with the field investigation preparation, including preparing project safety plans.
• Assist with post-field data entry and report writing.
• Internships are designed to introduce and build essential, hands-on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional.
• Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within their field of study.
• Intern III – completion of 3rd year of qualified study.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree for geology, hydrogeology, environmental science, or another related field.
• Valid U.S Driver's License.
• US Citizen/US Permanent Resident.
• Must have completed 3 years of qualified study.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to travel up to 75% to various job sites in and near Los Angeles Basin.
• Field related classes or experience especially with rock/soil/stratigraphy descriptions.
• Collect and evaluate environmental data in field and office settings.
• Support project staff with carrying out fieldwork (water, soil and/or air sampling) is considered an asset.
• Strong writing abilities.
• Strong problem-solving skills and familiarity with computer applications (e.g., word processing, spreadsheet, database, and CADD).

Additional Information

• Relocation is not available for this position.
• Candidates may be asked to submit to a Motor Vehicle Record screening, drug test, and/or medical surveillance screening upon hire.
• Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.  The hourly range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00.
