    Job Description

    AECOM is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern (Power Systems) - Rail Transit Division in the Oakland, CA office.

    This position is expected to begin on August 2023.

    The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

    • Assist the power systems team in designing and developing electrical systems for rail transit projects.
    • Create and update electrical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams using AutoCAD. Collaborate with engineers and project managers to understand project requirements and specifications.
    • Perform basic calculations and analyses related to electrical systems, such as load calculations and voltage drop analyses.
    • Attend project meetings and contribute to the discussion by providing input and suggestions. Perform research and gather data to support the design process.
    • Adhere to company and industry standards and guidelines related to electrical engineering and rail transit systems.
    • Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and procedures within the power systems team.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering.
    • Completed one year of study.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar computer-aided design software.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
    • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
    • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
    • Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and grow in the field of electrical engineering.

    Additional Information

    • Relocation is not available for this position.
    • Sponsorship is not available for this position.
    • Non-Exempt Position: The hourly/salary range for this position is $20 - $36.
