Job Description

AECOM/Hunt Construction has an immediate need for an experienced Construction Health, Safety and Environmental Specialist for our ongoing construction at JFK Airport in Queens, NY.

• Under general supervision performs technical work in a wide range of environmental, health and safety disciplines to achieve compliance with ES&H standards along with federal and state regulatory requirements.
• Exhibits knowledge and applies the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of their environmental specialty.
• Assists in the development, implementation and maintenance of safety and health programs, systems and procedures.
• Monitors and prevents hazards and diseases that could be found in the work area.
• Investigates accidents, injuries, and complaints concerning hazards in the workplace.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• BA/BS Occupational Safety or related curriculum and 2 years of experience in construction safety or AA/AS and 4 years of construction safety experience or HS/GED and 6 years of related experience.
• This position will require a valid US Drivers License in accordance with AECOM's vehichle safety program.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 4-year degree in Occupational Safety.
• CSP Certification
• OSHA 30 Certification
• Airport construction experience.
• Experience with the NYPA (Port Authority)
• Experience in construction computer programs such as E-Builder, Procore, CMIC etc.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook).
• NY DOB certification(s)
• Understanding of steelwork and civil (roads/bridges/rail)
• Offered rate of compensation (New York City only) will be based on individual education, qualification, experience and work location. The salary range for the position is $76,329.30 - $141,209.21 annually (exempt).

• This position is located in Jamiaca, Queens New York and is not hybrid nor remote.
• Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
• Valid Driver’s License to operate an AECOM provided motor vehicle on construction project site(s) to support project tasks assignments and scope of work. For positions with driving responsibilities, Motor Vehicle Records are reviewed as part of AECOM’s background check process to ensure compliance with the Company’s driving standards
