Job Description
Are you interested in a career working in the environmental field? This entry-level position in the Environment Business Line of AECOM offers a learning opportunity with a great team of Field Technicians, Geologists, Scientists, and Environmental Engineers. You’ll primarily be performing environmental field sampling duties for a long-term established chemical manufacturing client in Southern New Jersey.
Your work will also support other clients in the region and occasional travel may be required. You’ll apply your mechanical and problem-solving skills to an assortment of sampling and remediation projects. You will perform routine fieldwork as a trainee which includes a sampling of groundwater, soil, sediment, or surface water as part of environmental investigation and remediation projects as well as assisting in maintaining field equipment (vehicles, generators, pumps, field instruments).
You’ll document and report on your findings. You will receive hands-on training on the use of a variety of techniques and tools so that you can be effective in this independent field role. You’ll also learn proper documentation techniques for data collection, field logs, and safety practices. This is an entry-level position in a large, multi-disciplined environmental department. The candidate will be given the opportunity to cross-train and expand his/her skills on additional project assignments based on performance and experience background.
