    Job Description

     AECOM is seeking ROADWAY ENGINEERS to be at the forefront of the transformation of highway infrastructure in order to unlock the potential of CAVs in Michigan.

    Do you want to be on the cutting edge of future mobility solutions? The future of roadways is connected and autonomous vehicles (CAVs), making roads safer, less congested and sustainable. In addition to working on CAV projects in Michigan and beyond, candidate would be involved in design builds, complex freeway and state route projects throughout Michigan. The position would be based in GRAND RAPIDS, NOVI, OR TRAVERSE CITY, MICHIGAN. 

    Responsibilities include:

    • Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer. • Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures. • Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests. • Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered. • Identifies discrepancies in results. • Provides guidance to entry level engineers. • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • BA/BS + 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

    • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
    • 4+ years of previous drainage design experience on transportation projects including Schematic Development and/or Preparation of Plans, Specifications and Estimates (PS&E).·
    • Professional Engineering (PE) License.
    • Experience designing highway/roadway systems.
    • Experience on multidisciplinary project with subconsultants.
    • Experience with design software including MicroStation and GEOPAK and/or OpenRoads.
    • Familiar with MS Office 2010 software (Excel, Word, Project) is required.
    • Current work and experience with Schematic Development, Roadway Design.
    • Good communication skills and ability to work as a team.
