    Job Description

    AECOM is seeking an Inspector to perform construction engineering and inspection on a variety of construction projects including railroad, bridge and highway in Connecticut. Come join our team on these exciting projects!

    • Responsible for performing assignments in construction layout, making, and checking engineering computations, inspecting construction work, and conducting field tests.
    • Under minimal direction, relies on experience and independent judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Construction Project Manager
    • Responsible for setting own project deadlines.
    • Provides on the job training to new employees.
    • Responsible for monitoring conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties.
    • Performs daily field inspections and maintains inspection records.
    • Participates in punch lists, testing, and commissioning.
    • Tracks quality assurance progress.
    • Provides input to documentation for area and equipment turnovers.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma and 2 years of relevant experience performing inspections on related bridge and/or roadway construction projects or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • BS Civil Engineering or related curriculum.
    • experience working with Connecticut Dept. of Transportation (CTDOT)
    • Experience supervising / managing less experienced inspectors.
    • Willingness to work flexible schedules as needed for projects, including overnight work.
    • Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification, Engineer In Training (EIT), or Professional Engineer (PE) license
    • NICET certification (or ability to obtain required level).

    Additional Information

    • Offered rate of compensation in Connecticut will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The hourly range for this position is $24.04-$42.06.
