    Job Description

    Positioned as a key leader of a Global GBS organization and as the second-in-command to the Head of GBS, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) assumes a crucial role in driving operational initiatives across the GBS organization. Tasked with ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of GBS service delivery and embracing and driving innovation, the COO oversees the monitoring and tracking of strategic goals and objectives to advance towards our vision as a world class captive GBS organization.

    This position is instrumental in providing leadership, management, and strategic direction to specific GBS functions, including Service Delivery, Technology and Innovation, and Intelligent Automation, and driving accountability and continuous improvement across all functions.

    This will be a hybrid position to be based in Dallas, TX and will include a combination of in-office and virtual/telecommute work schedules.

    Assigned Functions: Service Delivery, Technology and Innovation, and Intelligent Automation

    Strategic Initiative Development and Execution:

    • Collaborate closely with the Head of GBS to lead the Functional heads in developing strategic initiatives for assigned GBS Functions with a heavy emphasis on innovation and digital transformation.
    • Embed an enterprise-level continuous improvement program and digitally lead Intelligent Automation program.

    Operational Alignment:

    • Lead Direct Reports to operationalize strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with overall GBS Functional and AECOM enterprise objectives.
    • Build and maintain effective leadership position with functional leads, key clients, partners, and stakeholders.

    Governance and Compliance:

    • Establish and adhere to policies and standards to ensure governance and compliance within assigned functions.
    • Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments, bringing new ideas to AECOM GBS on best practices.

    GBS Operations

    Operational Oversight and Quality:

    • Collaborate with the Head of GBS in overseeing GBS operations, establishing and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) to achieve strategic and operational goals.
    • Lead the development of functional plans to ensure operationalization and monitoring against annual objectives and key enterprise goals.

    Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement:

    • Drive operational excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement, enhancing operational efficiency and productivity within assigned functions and leveraging technology advancements to accelerate new ideas
    • Serve as an escalation point, liaising between functional heads, the head of GBS, and key stakeholders on matters requiring elevated support and intervention.

    Leadership Support and Development:

    • Provide guidance, coaching, and mentoring to GBS leadership teams, ensuring they deliver against set targets.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements:

    • BA/BS in Accounting or other related field, plus at least 15 years of professional experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education with at least 6 years of senior leadership experience in a high-performing organization
    • Deep knowledge in strategic and operational management with experience leading growing organizations
    • Track record of successfully meeting or exceeding organizational targets, achieving ambitious goals, and driving significant impact
    • Proven ability to lead organizational change and effective communications
    • Proven ability to leverage financial and operational metrics to drive organizational decisions and achieve strategic objectives.
    • Strong organizational and project management skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail and follow-through
    • Ability to build diverse and inclusive teams, build trust, autonomy and set clear accountabilities

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • MBA and/or CPA
    • Demonstrated strong work-ethic, outstanding customer service approach, experience leading and managing people, and exceptional interpersonal skills that lead to building relationships across the organization
    • High level of accountability, decision making ability and leadership courage
    • High level of emotional intelligence to lead with empathy, respect and strong listening skills

    Offered rate of compensation (TX locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. Bonus opportunities are tied to both company and individual performance and vary from year-to-year. The salary range for this position is $220,000 - $270,000.
