    Job Description

    AECOM is seeking an Environmental Project Manager for Remediation Construction projects with a focus on firm-fixed-price and cost plus fixed fee contracting. The Project manager will lead remediation projects across multiple AECOM subject matter experts and disciplines.  This is a full-time position and can be based from a number of various AECOM office locations, or based remotely within the United States, but must be able to travel up to 30% of the time to projects nationwide.

    The AECOM Project Manager is responsible for managing a project to achieve specified objectives. Involves the overall planning, coordination, and control of a project from inception to completion.  Responsible for managing projects that will be completed on time, within authorized budget, and meet all required quality parameters. Responsible for scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, and change management.

    RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION, WHICH MAY VARY SLIGHTLY, INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

    • Obtain AECOM Project Management Certification.
    • Collaborates with project teams and management in the development of strategies and plans.
    • Providing overall management and administration to projects and assisting in establishing project-specific objectives and policies
    • Support and manage construction/delivery for environmental remediation and remedial construction projects.
    • Provide technical direction and guidance to subordinate managers, enforce company and project policies, maintain close client interface, and ensure all facets of the project are constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule through subordinate managers and supervisors.
    • This position has significant profit/loss responsibility for assigned environmental remediation and remedial construction projects.
    • Works mostly independently but receives basic guidance on specific assignments, objectives, complex features, contract management, and financial performance.
    • Receives technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval on proposed plans for projects.
    • May supervise senior-level engineers (all disciplines applicable), as well as project administration, project controls, scheduling, cost control, estimating, and procurement representatives.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • BA/BS +6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
    • Must pass a State and Federal criminal history/security background check; many projects/clients are security sensitive.
    • Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required.
    • Valid U.S. Driver’s License is required

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Professional Engineer (PE), Professional Geologist (PG), and/or Project management Professional (PMP) with 15 years of environmental project experience, including managing projects firm-fixed-price remedial construction projects through implementation and closure.
    • Demonstrated experience in FFP and CPFF remedial construction projects.
    • Experience in managing environmental remediation projects $10 million or greater - including excavation/removal, impoundment/landfill closure, large-scale groundwater treatment system installation, and D4.
    • Ability to work independently and collaborate with others.
    • Ability to travel nationwide – up to approximately 30% of the time

    Additional Information

    Exempt Position: Offered rate of compensation (CA, CO, Washington State, and New York City, NY locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $120,000 - $140,000.
