Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Urban Planner

Responsibilities Include:

• Supports planning studies and reports for new and updated plans, programs and regulations.
• Reviews or assists in the review of development proposals and site plans for conformance with codes, plans and regulations.
• Prepares and presents detailed reports on development proposals to government bodies.
• Collects a variety of statistical data and prepares reports and maps on topics, such as census information, land use, transportation tax base data and occupancy rates.
• Assists in evaluating re-zonings, ordinance amendments, site plans, special use permits, variances and other proposals.
• Coordinates community review of public and private development projects.
• Provides information to the public regarding development regulations.
• Assists in resolving citizen and customer issues.
• Under direct supervision, conducts field evaluations and assessments.

Qualifications

_ Minimum Requirements:_

• Bachelor's in Planning, Geography, engineering or related field and or related experience in planning related work or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

_ Preferred Qualifications:_

• Related intern and/or professional experience.
• Positive outlook and can-do attitude approach to tasks and teamwork.
• Exceptional writing, research, analysis, and communication skills.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to balance priorities.
• Effective problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Efficient and organized worker with a high level of attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently as well as in multi-disciplinary teams.
• Apt at developing creative and innovative graphics and project layouts.
• Follows guidance well with little oversight.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, ArcGIS, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, AutoCAD, Sketchup Pro, and Photoshop.

Additional Information

• Offered rate of compensation) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The hourly range for this position is $25 - $40/hr.​
