    Job Description

    AECOM is seeking Hydrogeologist to be based in Greenville, South Carolina

    This position is expected to begin December 2023.

    The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

    • Utilizes basic scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope.
    • Collects and enters data, and applies technical principles and theories.
    • Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
    • Entry-level position; may not require previous experience.
    • Candidate must also be able to work as part of a project team comprised of AECOM staff and subcontractors. Flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects, a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and commitment to workplace health and safety are imperative.
    • This position requires excellent skills in written and spoken communication, organization, time management, and an individual who thrives in a team-oriented environment.
    • Duties may include periodic field work (e.g., borehole logging, groundwater sampling); compiling and evaluating site-related geological, geophysical, hydrogeologic and environmental data, working with a team to utilize the available data to develop a detailed geologic/hydrogeologic CSM; developing 2D and 3D visualizations of the CSM components; and summarizing the CSM in detailed technical reports.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Hydrogeology or relevant Geological Science discipline, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
    • Due to the nature of the work, U.S. citizenship is required.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Master's degree in Hydrogeology or other related discipline.
    • 1+ years of experience in environmental consulting or similar industry
    • Proficiency in using GIS software (ArcGIS) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint).
    • Experience with specialized software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Rockworks, Earth Volumetric Studio [EVS]) and building complex databases.
    • Ability to demonstrate professional demeanor in written and verbal communications with clients, regulatory officials, and fellow employees.
    • Ability to write and to convey complex thoughts and ideas in a clear, concise manner. Ability to learn through on-the-job experience.
    • OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER Certification or ability to obtain one within 6 months of hire.
    • Ability to travel for fieldwork and/or meetings. This position may require some travel (several weeks a year) within the United States.
