    Job Description

    AECOM is hiring a BIM Specialist I for our innovative and growing Digital Solutions department in NYC. The Digital Solutions Department is comprised of architects, engineers, developers, and programmers.  

    As a BIM Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting project teams through the application of BIM technologies. The Design Technology Specialist will leverage strong knowledge of AEC industry standards, tools, and practices to support and improve workflow collaboration and efficiencies throughout project delivery. 

     RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    • Works under direct supervision.
    • Assists with creating and modifying 3D models, renderings, and/or animations for promotion and proposals.
    • Office-based work with various departments to integrate imagery into presentations using existing software
    • May help to create or maintain standards, processes, and goals
    • Work is closely supervised
    • Act as a support resource for core design technologies 
    • Can be a resource and team member in all phases of the project 
    • Maintains current knowledge of design software, industry developments in integrated practice, and other applicable techniques 
    • Devotes time to researching new and upcoming technologies 
    • Assists in complex modeling, data management, analysis and/or optimization for architectural and engineering designs  
    • Assists in coordinating support between external vendors and internal staff 
    • Support efforts in the development, testing, and implementation of design tools and services

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, information technology or a related discipline required. 
    • Experience and interest in BIM/3D Modeling

     

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

    • Knowledge in building information modeling programs and applicable techniques
    • Experience using Revit
    • Proficiency in MS Office SuiteExperience with Adobe Creative Cloud Suite
    • Experience with a variety of BIM software including but not limited to: Revit, Navisworks, BIM360 Design Suite, Assemble, and Plangrid
    • Experience with a variety of design software including but not limited to: Rhino, Vray, Lumion, Unity, Unreal, Twinmotion, AutoCAD, and Formit
    • Knowledge and experience in the disciplines within the AEC industry
    • Ability to effectively meet deadlines
    • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
    • Familiarity with Autodesk Revit API & Dynamo, as well as Grasshopper for Rhino, are pluses 
    • Experience using Bentley Open Buildings is a plus

    • Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $80,000. AECOM is proud to offer a comprehensive benefits program to meet the diverse needs of our employees.
