    Job Description

    AECOM’s Water Business Line is actively seeking an Engineering Intern for employment in the Coral Gables, Florida or Fort Lauderdale, Florida office. The successful candidate will support the civil design teams in South Florida by working with different disciplines to complete a variety of projects.     The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

    • Assist in the planning, design, and implementation of water and wastewater projects for a variety of clients.
    • Assist with discrete work tasks required in preparation of hydraulic modeling of potable water, reclaimed water, and wastewater systems.
    • Create designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
    • Carry out engineering analyses and prepare reports and technical specifications under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
    • Work collaboratively within project teams to ensure project objectives are met within the defined scope, schedule, and budget.
    • Collect and analyze data, perform field work, and undertake site inspections under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
    • Attend site visits and meetings in clients’ offices.
    • Maintain project records and files, contribute to the preparation of progress reports, and communicate project and task updates to team members and supervisors as needed.
    • Work under the supervision of a project manager or senior-level member.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or in another related field.
    • Must have completed 3 years of study.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Pursuing a Civil Engineering Degree with a focus on Water Resources.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
