    Job Description

    AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Environmental Engineering Intern to be based in our Seattle, WA office. This position will support our Remediation team within our Environment business line.

    This part-time position is expected to begin May/June 2023, with an expected duration of 3-4 months.

    JOB OVERVIEW:

    The Environmental Engineering Intern will support our Remediation team in both the field and office. We are seeking motivated candidate who would like to develop and advance in a full-time environmental remediation career. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, reliable and have good interpersonal communication skills.

    Job Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:

    • Supports planning studies and reports for new and updated plans, programs and regulations.
    • Under direct supervision, conducts field investigations and assessments.
    • Assist with the field investigation preparation, including preparing project safety plans.
    • Assist with post-field data entry and report writing.
    • Internships are designed to introduce and build essential, hands on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional.
    • Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within their field of study.
    • Intern III – completion of third year of qualified study.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree program for Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related
    • Must have completed 3 years of study in relevant degree program
    • Due to the nature of work, U.S. Citizenship is required
    • Valid U.S. Driver’s License required

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Ability to travel to various job sites in and near Seattle.
    • Collect and evaluate environmental data in field and office settings.
    • Experience carrying out fieldwork (water and soil sampling) is considered an asset.
    • Strong writing and presentation abilities.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and familiarity with computer applications (e.g., word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation applications).

    Additional Information

    • This is an in-office/hybrid position. Candidates are expected to reside in the Seattle area but may have the flexibility to work remote part of the time.
    • Relocation is not offered for this position.

    • Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $50,002 - $87,504.
