    Job Description

    AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Party Chief for immediate employment in the Denver DTC office and/or the Colorado Springs office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in Land Surveying specific to CDOT and Land Development projects. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects. The incumbent can look forward to projects including preconstruction phases highways projects and all phases of subdivision development. Experience is very helpful but attitude is more important. Working mostly forty hour weeks with occasional overtime and overnight projects, with a possibility of week-long surveying trips – mostly in Colorado.

    Responsibilities:

    • Will be responsible for supervising the day to day operation of a one or two person field crew.

    • Should have the ability to upload and download data collectors, both conventional and GPS, reduce field notes, perform courthouse research, review title work, be able to perform coordinate geometry calculations, and perform drafting duties utilizing AutoCad, Microstation and/or Bentley OpenRoads (ORD) platforms.

    • The Party Chief should be able to do field reconnaissance of a site searching for property corners, set up and traverse control for a field survey, have a good knowledge of reading construction plans and setting and checking property monument position on a daily basis.

    • The Party Chief will need to communicate daily with the Project Managers, Project Engineers and occasionally need to communicate with the clients

    • He or she should have a “team player” attitude when working with anyone in the company.

    • The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed above.

    Minimum Requirements :

    • High School Diploma or equivalent and 2 years of relevant experience
    • Must have a valid driver's license

    Preferred Qualifications :

    • 6+ years of experience and/or post HS education
    • Understanding of various construction and field tasks
    • Knowledge of mathematical principles
    • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
    • Previous coursework in surveying, engineering, drafting, mathematics, physics or other relevant technical/scientific programs.
    • Pursuing LSI certificate or PLS license through self study and college courses.
    • Ability to stand and sit as needed on project work sites. Ability to safely navigate construction work sites, roads, buildings, and areas with uneven terrain
    • Must have a strong interest in a career within Survey and Right-of-Way services

    Additional Information

    • Offered rate of compensation (Colorado locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The hourly range for this position is $17 - $25/hr
    • This position will require working outdoors in a wide range of weather conditions
    • This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization
