    Job Description

    AECOM is seeking a PROJECT ACCOUNTING MANAGER to be based in SACRAMENTO OFFICE.

     

    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    Under the supervision of the Prime Contract Manager, serves as the Project Accounting Manager to provide direct oversight and administration of the PDS CAHSR Program subcontractors and monthly invoice process. The position will involve interaction and problem-solving with the Subcontractors, Task Leads and CAHSR Authority Contract team.  This position reports to the Prime Contract Manager.  

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Manage the day-to-day operations of the PDS project accounting team and duties
    • Review and analyze all financial documentation prior to submission to Authority
    • Develop and maintain master dispute file for PDS and Authority use
    • Develop and implement continuous improvement to deliver efficient and consistent invoices that meets contract and State guidelines
    • Respond to Authority and Program Leadership regarding financial performance inquiries, audits and escalated issues
    • Conduct weekly invoice meeting with the Authority
    • Conduct bi-weekly meeting with the Authority regarding dispute resolution
    • Provide Authority with Fiscal Year End financial accrual information
    • Provide Authority with Fiscal Year End budget encumbrances (Planning/Construction)
    • Provide monthly subcontractor payment tracking for submission to the Authority
    • Monitor and review the monthly invoice narratives process to be included with invoices.
    • Monitor A/R, A/P, unbilled, earned revenue, and disputed costs status
    • Prepares ad hoc status reports as requested or as needed
    • Manage work flow, processes and communication within the project accounting team.
    • Contributes to and attend project review meetings
    • Evaluates and advises Project Managers on project’s financial performance
    • Participates in internal and external project audits.
    • Manage responses to auditors for Project Manager and to satisfy auditor requests
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • BA/BS + 8 years of experience in accounting of program and project management projects in an engineering services industry.

     

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Has advanced knowledge of project accounting, providing support for the most complex and/or large scale projects.
    • Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline or engineering and/or management.
    • Ability to analyze program functional effectiveness and recommend applicable solutions to address needs and challenges.
    • Experience supervising project accountants and/or analysts, or a group of individuals.
    • Proficiency and knowledge of computer software applications such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Sharepoint and Oracle.
