Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Structural Engineering Intern for employment in Philadelphia, PA. We are searching for candidates that have the ability to be inquisitive, strategic thinkers, that are interested in bringing new ideas that help make an impact.

This position is expected to begin in May 2023.

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Works alongside professional structural engineers to assess design projects, perform analysis and design, and prepare technical sketches, drawings, specifications, and reports.
• Assist with support of submittal and RFI responses for projects in the construction phase.
• Perform site visits as necessary.
• Performs a variety of assignments designed to develop professional work knowledge and abilities, requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria in carrying out tasks.
• Performs entry level work. 
• Follows instructions to accomplish task assigned by senior staff. 
• Meets required schedules while producing quality work.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Currently pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• Must have completed 2 years of study in the applicable program
• Due to the nature of this role, US citizenship/green card holders or permanent residency is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
• Some knowledge of project design and construction documentation and materials.
• Ability to work on multiple, fast-paced projects and documents.
• Ability to follow direction and manage specific tasks to completion.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
