    Job Description

    AECOM is seeking a dynamic and experienced Client Account Manager to drive business growth for Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). This external facing leader will represent AECOM with TxDOT and be responsible for statewide business development, sales, and strategy across all districts and divisions for this key client with a goal of winning new and repeat business for all of AECOM’s service offerings.

    This position is expected to begin immediately.

    Job Summary/Responsibilities

    The candidate will need to be a growth minded leader who can work collaboratively with other senior leaders in Transportation and other Business Lines, and mentor staff in a fast pace setting to drive strategic planning, business development, sales & marketing, opportunity identification, capture management, and relationship building. The candidate should be able to demonstrate knowledge of the engineering and construction industry, develop knowledge of the company, and be responsible for hiring and developing a “best-in-class” business development team. The candidate must be able to communicate their ideas clearly and convincingly verbally and visually to peers and senior leadership.

    The responsibilities of this position may include, but are not limited to:

    • Fully accountable for all business development activities with TxDOT
    • Represent AECOM and serve a point of contact with TxDOT Leadership.
    • Review and understand AECOM’s obligations on current TxDOT contracts. Works with RBLL and operations team to facilitate successful project delivery, including rate negotiations strategy.
    • Manage the AECOM TxDOT Client Account Team. Set strategic direction to business development with TxDOT.
    • Regularly meet with staff from multiple levels of TxDOT to obtain feedback on AECOM’s performance and identify opportunities.
    • Position AECOM for pursuits and promote AECOM capabilities in front of the client.
    • Leads preparation of Client Account Plan, coachs pursuit teams in the development of winning Opportunity Capture Plans and coordinate resources with TxDOT Marketing Lead. May serve as capture manager for Enterprise Critical Pursuits.
    • Develop and execute pursuit strategies to increase market share across TxDOT’s pipeline of opportunities and coordinates pursuits among different disciplines.
    • Monitor client satisfaction and addresses performance issues.
    • Ensure TxDOT continues to be a sustainable source of repeat business.
    • Work with Regional Business Line Leader for Texas, Division Managers, and Texas State Business Development Leadon development of sales, strategies and opportunities.
    • Develop and executes a TxDOT focused conference plan. Maintain a high profile with TxDOT and transportation industry. Attend conferences and workshops to strengthen existing TxDOT relationships and establish new TxDOT relationships.
    • Has a keen understanding of industry trends and market drivers.
    • Provides leadership in recruiting, training, and retaining top talent for TxDOT opportunities and projects.

    Minimum Requirements

    • BA/BS + 12 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 4 years of leadership.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience in business development, and strong existing relationships with TxDOT.
    • Existing relationships within the transportation community in Texas, and active involvement in relevant professional organizations
    • Demonstrated success in leading and wining proposals with TxDOT.
    • Team-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
    • Strong understanding of best practices in capture process for professional services
    • Familiarity with Salesforce or other CRM systems
    • Leadership position with TxDOT or TxDOT as a client
