    Job Description

    AECOM is seeking a Geologist III to join our Remediation team based in our Clifton, NJ office. The successful candidate will work with a diverse team of technical leaders across a broad range of practice areas delivering professional consulting services to our key clients. The candidate will join a large established team conducting environmental assessment and remediation projects across New Jersey and the New York Metropolitan area. The successful candidate will be committed to the team’s success and growth; will rigorously apply safety policies and procedures; will manage the technical, cost and schedule elements of project delivery; and will effectively manage the quality of field efforts and project deliverables within the bounds of the AECOM Quality Management System.

    This is a hybrid work model that may require 2-3 days/week in the office. Additionally this is primarily an outdoor field position.

    Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, the following :

    • Assume project management responsibility for environmental remediation projects, including planning, scheduling, and coordination
    • Undertake technical work in accordance with the contracted scope of work, budget, schedule and legislative standards
    • Field-based task oversight of environmental investigation and remediation programs. Field work may include soil, sediment, surface water and/or groundwater sampling, operation and maintenance of remedial systems, and remedial construction oversight including subcontractor management
    • Coordinate and prepare written reports, work plans, and technical memorandums; analyze data and develop supported conclusions
    • Work collaboratively with other teams within the Remediation department, and professionals across AECOM internal business lines
    • Proactively identify opportunities to increase project efficiencies, improve technical methodologies and add value to client service offerings
    • Assist with development of junior staff through ongoing mentoring
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements:

    • BA/BS plus 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
    • 4 years of relevant experience should include working as a geologist in an environmental engineering consulting capacity
    • Experience working in the field performing geologist related tasks
    • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification is required
    • Valid US Driver’s License and must be able to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review
    • Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in environmental science/geology preferred
    • Experience working on projects that are subject to NJDEP, NYSDEC regulatory oversight and Superfund programs is helpful

    Additional Information

    • This position requires outdoor field work, working in inclement weather conditions, extreme temperatures, walking standing, sitting in uneven terrain and carrying equipment that may weigh up to 20 lbs

    Offered rate of compensation in (New Jersey locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $76,329.30 - $107,000.
